This finding adds to a series of recent cases in the region where bodies have been found in bodies of water or public places. In March, for example, a man was found dead on the banks of the Hudson in Yonkers. That same month, authorities confirmed that human remains found in California corresponded to the girl Laura Ann O'Malley, who disappeared more than 50 years ago in Queens.
In February, another case shocked the city when a 65-year-old Hispanic man was found dismembered inside a suitcase in the East River. His roommate was arrested as a suspect in the Lower East Side.
Also, last month, the remains of former soldier Tanya Jackson and her daughter Tatiana Dykes were identified, found 14 years apart in Long Island, a case that for years was shrouded in mystery.
Authorities have not revealed the identity of the man found yesterday in the Hudson nor details about the circumstances of his death.
