Santo Domingo.- Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, within the framework of strengthening interdiction actions, to combat drug trafficking, seized a shipment of 1,303 pounds of alleged marijuana, during a joint follow-up and intelligence operation, carried out in the province of Montecristi.
Operational and fiscal units, based on intelligence reports, proceeded to raid a residence on Dominican Residents in the United States Street, Buen Hombre sector, Villa Vásquez municipality, which, according to reports, served as a storage center for narcotic substances.

Upon entering the house, the inspection protocol was carried out, locating inside a total of 24 white bags, with 154 packages of a vegetable presumed to be marijuana, weighing approximately 1,303 pounds. Authorities are deepening investigations related to the frustrated international drug trafficking operation, while continuing to intensify joint and interdiction efforts against networks dedicated to drug trafficking.“The Public Ministry and the DNCD are actively seeking several individuals, who, according to reports, are part of a network that moves drugs by sea, from Jamaica to the coasts of Montecristi.”
The vegetable bales were sent under chain of custody to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
