The Dominican Republic, through the Export and Investment Center (ProDominicana), will participate in the Americas Food & Beverage Show 2025, which will be held from September 10 to 12 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, in the city of Miami, Florida.
This event is recognized as one of the most important food industry fairs on the continent, bringing together exhibitors and buyers from more than 50 countries in a strategic setting for the promotion of international business, the presentation of innovations, and the strengthening of brand presence in the markets of America and the Caribbean.
ProDominicana's Executive Director, Biviana Riveiro Disla, highlighted that participation in this event represents a strategic opportunity to continue consolidating the country's presence in the US market, the Dominican Republic's main trading partner.
"The United States continues to be our main export destination, with a total of US$6,909.9 million in 2024, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 6.7%, reaching 1,694 exported products from 26 provinces of the country."
The main products exported from the Dominican Republic to the United States in 2024 were: cigars (US$895.5 million), medical instruments and apparatus (US$751.2 million), electrical circuit breakers (US$748.9 million), jewelry articles and their parts (US$600.7 million), and cotton t-shirts (US$326.9 million).
In the agricultural sector, exports of cocoa beans (US$144 million), cane sugar in solid state (US$108.4 million), as well as avocados (US$52.2 million), tomatoes (US$17.1 million) and fresh chili peppers (US$16.3 million) stand out, in addition to bakery products and various food preparations. These items reinforce the weight of the Dominican agro-industrial sector in the US market, combining agricultural tradition with a processed offer of added value.
"In the period January - July 2025, we have already exported US$4,213 million to this market, with a year-on-year growth of 2.8%, which demonstrates the dynamism and competitiveness of our productive sectors," said Riveiro.
"The Americas Food & Beverage fair is an ideal platform for Dominican companies to showcase the quality and diversity of their exportable offerings, generate high-level business contacts, and expand their participation in international markets. At ProDominicana, we remain firm in our mission to boost the growth of Dominican exports and strengthen the country brand," concluded Riveiro
