Dotel's Wife Requests Coercion and Million-Dollar Compensation for Jet Set Tragedy

Santo Domingo, R.D. – The legal representation of Dr. Julino César Castillo Núñez, along with his children and Mrs. Massiel Almonte, filed a request before the First Instruction Court of the National District for the imposition of coercive measures, both personal and real, against the defendants Antonio and Maribel Espaillat, as well as against their mother, Ana Grecia López. Within the legal actions, the lawyers proposed the imposition of significant financial guarantees as part of the civil reparation. In that sense, the Castillo Ricard family requested measures amounting to RD$300 million. Individually, Dr. Julio César Castillo also requested the seizure of assets for an estimated value of RD$100 million, as part of his claims.

On the other hand, the Javier Almonte family, representing Massiel Almonte, wife of former baseball player Octavio Dotel, who died in the tragic event that occurred at the Jet Set nightclub, and their minor children, requested judicial authorization to execute embargoes for RD$60 million. In addition, they are claiming compensation amounting to RD$300 million. The case continues its course in the courts, while the parties involved seek redress for the damages arising from the unfortunate event.
