Governor of Samaná assists family affected by fire in Los Cacaos

Samaná.- The governor of Samaná, Teodora Mullix, moved to the Los Cacaos hill to provide direct assistance to a family affected by a fire that destroyed their home. During the visit, the representative of the Executive Branch made the delivery of household items as part of the immediate aid, and also informed that the Provincial Government assumed the payment of a temporary housing, guaranteeing dignified conditions while definitive housing solutions are managed. The governor was accompanied by councilman Franklin Ernesto Acosta Moya, who expressed his solidarity with the affected family and supported the response actions undertaken by the provincial authorities. Mullix reiterated the Government's commitment to respond in a timely manner to emergency situations, especially in vulnerable communities, and to support families impacted by events that put their well-being at risk. The authorities continue to assess the situation in order to channel other aid that contributes to the recovery of the affected family.

According to information provided at the scene, the fire caused significant material losses, leaving the family without their main belongings. The rapid intervention of the Provincial Government allowed for an immediate response to mitigate the impact of the disaster and guarantee minimum conditions of safety and stability. The governor highlighted the importance of inter-institutional and community coordination in the face of these types of emergencies, while calling for the continued strengthening of prevention mechanisms and social assistance in the most vulnerable communities in the province. Likewise, he reiterated that the Gobernación of Samaná keeps its doors open to attend to the needs of the citizenry and follow up on cases that require state support, especially those derived from unforeseen situations that affect the integrity and well-being of families.
