Santo Domingo. - From a very young age, JalexiZ Fernández dreamed of succeeding on NBA courts. Although life took him down a different path, he never abandoned his passion for basketball, but rather transformed it into a greater mission: to create opportunities for other young Dominicans to go further than he did.
That commitment led him to found Por Amor al Basket Inc., an organization that is now making history by achieving what no other Latin American project had accomplished: taking two emblematic Dominican basketball clubs, Mauricio Báez and Bameso, to compete at the prestigious Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in a unique event dubbed The Respect Game.
More than a game, it's an encounter that unites sports, music, and Dominican culture, projecting identity, pride, and connection with the diaspora in one of the most important venues in the United States.
The show will feature a first-class production, narrated and hosted by great Dominican voices: Hony Estrella and Albert Mena will be the official hosts; César Marchena will be the main narrator; and Manuel Reyes “Marega” will provide his technical comments with experience and sports passion.
In terms of music, the evening will open with the presentation of Tercer Cielo, a Christian Latin pop duo, with a tribute full of faith and emotion. At halftime, the urban rhythm will take over the Prudential Center with El Lápiz Conciente, Bulova and DJ Adoni, who will make the audience vibrate.
