As part of this process, Mr. Héctor Falero, representative of the Caguas City Hall and head of the municipality's baseball area, recently visited the city of Punta Cana, operational headquarters of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame, who held a schedule of meetings and work encounters focused on getting to know the impact, structure and international projection represented by the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame. During his visit, Falero was able to learn details related to the operations, the institutional vision and the expansion plans of the organization, also valuing the important contribution that a strategic alliance between these institutions could represent for both baseball and Puerto Rico from a sporting, cultural and tourist point of view. "We have many aspects and goals in common, with respect to our vision of promoting Puerto Rican baseball and its impact on the region and the function and work of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame, and we see these alliances very positively, because they impact the growth of the game in our countries and also highlight the legacy of our legends," said Falero. Robinson Paredes, Executive Director of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame, highlighted that the conversations held so far have been highly positive. Paredes indicated: "Our ideas reflect the mutual interest in developing high-impact initiatives that contribute to the growth of Latin baseball, sports tourism, and cultural integration between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, which also always organically considers the contribution and participation of Latin American nations." The details and agreements related to these conversations will be officially revealed during a press conference scheduled to be held on June 9, 2026, in the city of Caguas, Puerto Rico, an event in which members of the International Committee for the Exaltation of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame will participate, along with institutional representatives, special guests, and a wide presence of media from the Island of Enchantment. "The interest shown by the Criollos 13 Foundation and figures historically linked to professional baseball demonstrates that there is a serious and committed vision around future projects that can benefit the sport and our communities," added Paredes. The institutions involved will continue to hold meetings and working groups over the coming weeks, with the aim of further strengthening this important institutional and sporting alliance. The Latin Baseball Hall of Fame will announce in the coming weeks the list of eligible players for the XIII Class, corresponding to the year 2026, reaffirming its commitment to continue promoting initiatives that preserve the history and legacy of great figures of Latin American baseball, promoting new opportunities for sports, cultural and tourist development for the region.
