Man sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexual assault of a minor in Peravia

Peravia.– The Collegiate Court of the judicial district of Peravia sentenced a man found guilty of sexual assault to 15 years in prison for the harm caused to an 11-year-old adolescent, in an event that occurred in the year 2024.

The sentence was handed down against Yoandri Perdomo (Tuti), after the evidence presented by the Public Ministry during the judicial process was accepted. According to the record, the legal action was initiated after the victim's mother filed the complaint, after learning of the situation when taking the minor to a medical center for health reasons.

The Public Ministry, represented by court prosecutor Rafael Antonio Melo, argued before the court that the accused incurred violations of articles 330 and 331 of the Dominican Penal Code. The court, composed of judges Mary G. Díaz Castillo, Miguel A. Pérez Méndez and Jorge T. Broun, ordered that the convicted person serve the sentence at the Baní Freedom Deprivation Center (CPL).
