Santo Domingo.- Major League Baseball (MLB) appointed Miguel Matos as director of its office in the Dominican Republic, a position from which he will be in charge of the administrative operations and development programs that the league promotes in the country.
Matos replaces Nelson Tejada, who held the position on an interim basis following the departure of Yerik Pérez last May. Since 2023, Matos served as Director of International Operations.

With over 13 years of experience in the organization, he began his career in 2012 as an intern in the Dominican office and, since then, has held various roles in areas such as operations, player registration, technology acquisition, and talent development.
Rebecca Seesel, MLB's Vice President of International Operations, highlighted that his deep knowledge of Dominican baseball makes him the ideal person to strengthen the league's work in the region.
