Bogotá.- The Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, expressed this Friday his support for the British singer Dua Lipa, who will perform tonight at the El Campín stadium in Bogotá, after videos showing crowds of fans outside the hotel where she is staying circulated on social media.
"Dua Lipa is a cutting-edge and progressive singer who deserves the greatest respect from Colombians. Any help needed for her peace of mind, we will be willing," the president wrote on X.
The comment comes amid the concern expressed by a group of the artist's fans, who denounced in a statement behaviors they described as "harassment" during the last few hours.
In social media videos, dozens of people are seen trying to approach the singer and her fiancé, actor Callum Turner, who have been sightseeing in the Colombian capital for two days on the occasion of her concert.
