Santo Domingo. - In the celebration of the birth of the Patrician Juan Pablo Duarte, the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) by highlighting the eternal young leadership of the Father of the Nation, demanded that the Government urgently adopt a National Youth Strategy, with clear goals, verifiable indicators and a defined budget.
"We don't need speeches and promises, we need jobs, opportunities, protection, and a future. Investing in youth is not an expense, it is the only investment that decides whether a country advances or fades. When young people are abandoned, money is not saved: lives are mortgaged, progress is delayed, and tomorrow is condemned," says the PLD in the Monday Press conference, on this occasion guided by the Youth Secretariat of the PLD (JPLD).
Carolina Wegmuller, Head of the Youth Secretariat, presented a document to the media, accompanied by Miguel Rosario, Marcos Cruz, Sheila Brito, Máximo Herasme, Keila Villar, Jorge Javier and Adán Herrera, undersecretaries and members of the Central Committee of the PLD.

"Today, thousands of young people navigate despair, oblivion, and the lack of attention from the authorities," denounces the Juventud peledeísta, adding that this "situation is not a joke or a matter of networks; it is a structural problem that directly compromises economic development, citizen security, social stability, and the future of the country." In that sense, Carolina Wegmuller listed and described some of the aspects she considered fundamental: 1. Precarious labor insertion and early exclusion; 2. Young people who neither study nor work: an exclusion with a female face; 3. Lack of public policies for young entrepreneurs, 4. Violence: youth as the main victim; 5. Little real support for young people to study; 6. Impact of the health system on Dominican youth; 7. Childcare centers and young families. As has been the custom in the Dominican Liberation Party at the Press Conference, the secretary of the Youth of the PLD presented seven fundamental priorities for their proposal of a National Youth Strategy to the Government:- Youth employment and first formal employment, with temporary subsidies and dual training programs, 2. Creation of the National Care Network, to reduce female labor exclusion, 3. Educational and labor re-engagement programs for young people in "ni-ni" condition, 4. Assume the preliminary draft law "Mipymes Joven", submitted by the Youth Secretariat of the PLD to the Chamber of Deputies, which promotes real support for young Dominican entrepreneurs, through technical accompaniment and access to seed capital for the development and sustainability of their ventures, 5. Develop educational and labor re-engagement programs for young people in "ni-ni" condition, 6. Implement a comprehensive public policy that guarantees more scholarships with clear and equitable criteria, the real strengthening of programs such as English by Immersion, and that technical educational institutions refocus exclusively on their training mission, 7. Create comprehensive mental health care programs for youth, integrated into schools and primary care and 8. Promote follow-up policies for the management of the country's infant care centers.
