Search continues for girl swept away by ravine in Villa Mella

Santo Domingo.- More than 24 hours have passed since a five-year-old girl was swept away by a ravine in the El Primaveral sector of Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte, during the intense rains on Thursday. Authorities and rescue teams are maintaining a continuous operation to locate them.

In that sense, heavy rescue teams and two rapid intervention teams have been deployed at the site to advance in difficult conditions. Of the estimated 4 kilometers of the route, 1.5 km have already been covered from the point where the incident occurred.

The mayor of Santo Domingo Norte, Betty Gerónimo, reported that more authorities and rescue teams have been added, including personnel from the Ministry of Public Works, municipal brigades, drones, boats, and a canine team, to intensify the search.
