Sosúa communities thank Collado: "we can dance in the streets"

Santo Domingo. - Radaí de los Santos, president of the La Unión Neighborhood Association and vice president of the Sosúa Neighborhood Associations Organization, thanked the support of the Minister of Tourism, David Collado. "This was a fiasco to walk through, you had to wear rubber boots. You can't imagine how many years this dream has been waiting to come true. Today people will have better communication and we, as community members, feel satisfied with this great work that the minister has done with his friendly hand," he declared. Similarly, Mrs. Socorro, a resident of the area, shared her emotional testimony. She recalled that on her 60th birthday, when Collado visited her house just ten days ago, he expressed with nostalgia that in 40 years living there she had never seen a street in decent condition. "We can dance in the streets," she said, moved.

The community members agreed that the asphalt paving represents not only an improvement in mobility, but also a step towards the dignity and well-being of hundreds of families who for decades lived among mud and impassable streets.
