Student meeting point denounces more than 150 sections without grades at UASD

Santo Domingo.– Student leaders belonging to the Punto de Encuentro Estudiantil (PE-18) movement filed a formal complaint this Monday with the academic authorities of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, for the lack of publication of the final grades of more than 150 sections corresponding to the 2025-1 semester. The communication was addressed to the rector Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo, to the vice-rector of teaching Wilson Mejía, via the general secretary Pablo Valdez, with a copy to the deans of the different faculties. In it, the representatives Eliana Tineo (member of the Executive Committee of the FED) and Nicolle González (member of the University Council) demanded the immediate application of the sanctions contemplated in the institutional regulations. According to Article 47 of the Student Academic Performance Regulations, teachers have a period of 10 calendar days to submit final grades after the evaluation. However, this deadline has been exceeded by numerous professors, without justification or official communication to the students.

The non-publication of grades is not a simple oversight, it is a serious offense that directly affects students' right to know their academic results, enroll on time, apply for scholarships, and complete graduation processes”, expressed Eliana Tineo and Nicolle González. The complaint also refers to Articles 58 and 59 of the regulations, which establish progressive sanctions, from written warnings to the indefinite suspension of teaching for those who reoffend for three consecutive semesters A detailed list of the sections, subjects, and professors involved in the misconduct was attached to the document. In addition, the authorities were requested to apply the corresponding disciplinary measures immediately, as established by the institutional regulations.
