Santo Domingo. — Authorities reported the arrest of Frailin Neftalí Valentín Corporán, alias “Esteroide,” and Johan Manuel de los Santos, alias “Joan,” identified as responsible for an assault that occurred on Duarte Avenue, Savica sector, in Los Alcarrizos. The event gained national attention after the broadcast of a video captured by surveillance cameras.
The event was recorded on the morning of January 5, 2026, when a young woman and her companion were riding a motorcycle and were intercepted by several individuals on other motorcycles. During the assault, one of the attackers used a bladed weapon to intimidate the victims, managing to steal from them cash, a cell phone, personal documents, bank cards, and other belongings.
The investigations, supported by audiovisual material obtained from a nearby clinic, allowed the identification of those involved and the execution of their capture through a judicial order. The video of the assault, widely shared on social media, generated outrage among the population and motivated a rapid response from the authorities.
The detainees were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, where the corresponding legal procedures will continue.
