Writing.- Traffic was restored on the Majagual section of the Juan Pablo II highway, at the entrance to Los Haitises National Park, after landslides of earth and rocks caused by the intense rains recorded in recent days.
The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that brigades immediately intervened in the affected area, using heavy equipment and two backhoes to carry out the controlled demolition of the rocks, which allowed the road to be cleared in the shortest possible time and circulation to be restored.
The institution highlighted that the operation was carried out in an agile and timely manner, avoiding further setbacks for drivers who use this important route.

Likewise, the MOPC thanked the support of the General Directorate of Traffic and Ground Transportation Safety (DIGESETT) and the Military and Police Commission of the Ministry of Public Works (COMIPOL), entities that collaborated in the channeling of traffic during the works to guarantee road safety. Authorities reported that the area remains properly signposted and urged citizens to drive with caution due to possible unstable conditions on the ground as a result of the rains.
