Santo Domingo. – The United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah Francis Campos, held a meeting this Tuesday with the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, with the aim of strengthening cooperation ties in key areas for local development.
The meeting took place in the mayor's office, located in the Consistorial Palace of the Colonial City, where both officials exchanged impressions on joint initiatives and shared challenges in urban management and transparency. During the dialogue, possible collaboration mechanisms between the United States Embassy and the capital's council were discussed, aimed at promoting projects related to municipal modernization, investment, and citizen security. This approach is part of the diplomatic agenda that Campos has been developing since his arrival in the country, focused on consolidating institutional relations and promoting cooperation spaces with key actors in the public sphere. It is worth noting that both the ambassador and the mayor have previously coincided in public activities, evidencing a common interest in promoting integration and cultural exchange between both nations.
