New York.- The transportation company Uber announced this Wednesday that it will implement trips with autonomous vehicles in Madrid, London and Los Angeles, among other cities, within the framework of its strategy to become the
company that coordinates the most trips of this type worldwide by the year 2029.
Uber advanced its driverless travel plans in the presentation of the results of the last quarter of 2025 in which it reported a net profit of 296 million dollars for that period. Net revenue for the previous year was 6.88 billion dollars.
Among the prospects for the first quarter of 2026, the company included "a monetary boost of approximately 4 percentage points on year-over-year growth".
Also, a growth in reserves of between $52,000 and $53.5 million.
Uber aims to be the leading company in facilitating autonomous trips by the year 2029, which means they will not necessarily own the entire vehicle fleet, but will enable the option to carry out the journeys and manage them with the client.
"We are entering 2026 with rapid revenue growth, significant cash flow, and a clear path to becoming the world's largest facilitator of travel in autonomous vehicles," assured Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO.
Uber's Projections with Autonomous Vehicles
These driverless trips, also known as robotaxis, are already operating in some US cities like Atlanta, Austin, Dallas or Phoenix, as well as in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, among others.
In addition to the Spanish capital, Uber will introduce these trips in Hong Kong, Houston, Munich, Zurich, and London.
