Flooding affects homes in Sabana Grande de Boyá; residents blame poorly executed works

Sabana Grande de Boyá, Monte Plata. — At least eight homes were affected on the afternoon of this Monday due to the intense rains that impacted the El Deportivo, Los Corrales and Duarte Abajo sectors, in the municipality of Sabana Grande de Boyá.

According to residents who spoke to local media, the floods were caused by the excessive elevation of sidewalks and curbs built in 2023, a situation that had already begun to cause problems in the community of El Brazalete.

The residents expressed their growing concern about the approach of the hurricane season, warning that, if corrective measures are not taken, the consequences could be worse in the coming months.

In that sense, they made an urgent call to the municipal and governmental authorities to intervene immediately and seek a definitive solution to this problem that directly affects their homes and their safety.
