La Romana.- Officers from the Provincial Intelligence Division (Dintel), along with members of the Preventive Police, seized more than 32 thousand units of contraband cigarettes and 43 gallons of adulterated alcohol during an operation carried out in Villa Hermosa, La Romana.
During the intervention, the Haitian citizen Lemoine Jean was arrested, and the amount of RD$27,350.00 pesos and a cell phone with an invisible IMEI were seized from him.

The authorities seized the products in the Las Pulgas market, located in the Pica Piedra sector.
Among the seized items are:
- 11 boxes of 200 units and 52 of 20 units, for a total of 3,240 units of Comme TL Faut Verde brand cigarettes.
- 24 packs of 100 units and 2 packs of 200 units, plus 115 packs of 20 units, totaling 10,420 Point brand cigarettes.
- 27 boxes of 200 units, equivalent to 7,400 Capital brand cigarettes.
In total, 32,120 units of illicit cigarettes smuggled into the country were seized.
In addition, they took care of:
- 4 containers of 10 gallons and 3 more containers, totaling 43 gallons of adulterated rum (clerén).
- 12 bottles of 175 ml King’s Pride brand.
- 3 bottles of 175 ml Claorin Mimosa brand.
- 5 bottles of 180 ml 8PM brand.
- 1 bottle of 180 ml 8PM Blue brand.
- 1 bottle of 60 ml Pfaffger’s Choice brand.
- 14 plastic bottles of 90 ml Gold brand.
- 15 bottles of 180 ml 8PM Grain Blended Whisky brand.
The detainee and the evidence will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
