Concern over manipulation of veterinary substance in drinking water tank in Samaná

Samaná.- Residents of the Los Tocones community, Samaná province, have expressed their deep concern following the dissemination of a video in which an individual of Haitian nationality is observed manipulating a veterinary product within the perimeter of the drinking water tank that supplies the community.

In the audiovisual material, the man appears holding a syringe and a container that, according to local testimonies, would contain a medication intended for horses. The recording suggests that the product would be administered to a horse that was inside the premises of the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewers (INAPA).

This incident has generated alarm among residents, who fear for the possible contamination of the drinking water supply and the risks associated with public health. Consequently, the community has made an urgent call to national and provincial authorities to investigate the event, reinforce the security of the system, and implement stricter controls in the water distribution facilities.

"What we are asking for is safety and guarantees that the water we consume is free of any contaminants. It is unacceptable for unauthorized people to have access to such a sensitive area," said one of the community leaders.

So far, the competent authorities have not issued official statements about the case, which has increased the concern among the inhabitants of the area. The community members are expecting a prompt and effective response from INAPA and other government agencies to clarify the incident and prevent similar situations from happening again in the future.
