Ibero-American Judicial Summit concludes with roadmap for people-centered justice

Santo Domingo. – With the signing of the Declaration of Santo Domingo, the Plenary Assembly of the XXII edition of the Ibero-American Judicial Summit, held in the Dominican Republic, concluded this Friday. In the document, the judicial powers of the participating countries committed to implement actions that strengthen their judicial systems and promote justice centered on people.

Among the commitments undertaken are the incorporation of axiological products in strategic planning, the updating of the Ibero-American Judicial Map, the promotion of innovation and digitalization, attention to the impact of artificial intelligence, the promotion of solidarity cooperation, continuous judicial training, gender equality and the protection of environmental rights.

The Declaration invites Ibero-American judicial powers to adopt these principles in their institutional structures, integrating a results-oriented methodology. The objective is to consolidate a model judicial system of transparency, excellence, and respect for human rights, and that effectively responds to the needs of citizens.

During the closing ceremony, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), Henry Molina, highlighted the importance of the consensus reached and emphasized that the Declaration represents a firm step towards a modern, accessible justice committed to human dignity. "Justice cannot be a system enclosed in itself. It is, above all, a fundamental pillar of democracy, whose efficiency depends on our ability to innovate and collaborate," he stated.

The Ibero-American Judicial Summit is a forum that brings together the highest representatives of the Supreme Courts of Justice and Councils of the Judiciary of 23 countries, with the aim of promoting inter-institutional cooperation. This edition was developed under the slogan: “Justice on time to guarantee the dignity of people”, with a focus on three strategic axes: timely justice, inclusive justice and reliable justice.
