Santa Bárbara, Samaná.- The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, inaugurated this Tuesday the Juan Pablo Duarte central park and its surroundings, rebuilt with an investment of RD$51,981,533.
The reconstruction of that park, a long-standing demand of the population, consisted of the intervention of a total area of 5,322 square meters.Read more: Collado values the recovery of public spaces, when delivering a renovated park in Samaná
For this intervention, the reconstruction work of 1,058 square meters of sidewalk and 521 linear meters of curbs was carried out, including the 1,834 square meters of internal plazas in bricks. Minister Collado said that this work is part of the investment made by the Ministry of Tourism as part of promoting the strengthening of tourism development in Samaná. Accompanied by Mayor Nelson Núñez and Governor Teodora Mullix, among other provincial and municipal authorities, Collado made it clear that the Ministry of Tourism will spare no effort to continue investing in Samaná until this province becomes the "great destination it deserves to be".As part of the intervention, the reconstruction of the park with its trails, reconstruction of the bandstand, refurbishment of the cafeteria and the refurbishment of recreational areas were contemplated. It also included electrical installations, signage installation, and reconstruction of planters and landscaping.
Within the equipment, children's games, urban furniture with trash cans, bollards, and concrete benches covered with synthetic wood backs were installed.
