For his part, Venezuelan José Altuve was the other great offensive figure of the game by hitting two home runs and driving in four runs, establishing his highest production so far this season. With his two home runs –one solo in the fifth inning and another of two runs in the sixth– Altuve signed the 12th multiple home run game of his career.

Right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. had his longest outing of the year, pitching four and a third innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and eight strikeouts, his highest strikeout total of the season. The win went to Shawn Dubin (1-0), who relieved and got the last two outs of the fifth inning.

With this victory, the Astros reinforce their offense and celebrate two notable milestones: Altuve's consistency and Peña's evolution as a key piece in the team's lineup.

Outstanding performance by Latinos:

  • Jeremy Peña (DOM): 3-1, 2 RBIs, 1 triple (500 hits in MLB)
  • José Altuve (VEN): 4-2, 2 HR, 4 RBIs
  • Yainer Díaz (DOM): 4-2, 1 run scored
  • Mauricio Dubón (HON): 4-2, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI
  • Víctor Caratini (PUR): 4-3, 1 RBI

The Astros continue their home series with good offensive momentum and personal records that celebrate the Latino impact in Major League Baseball.
