Cruz, one of the team's main historical figures, returns to the organization after a successful career both in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League and in Major League Baseball, where he stood out for his leadership and offensive productivity. In addition, he has served as general manager of the Dominican team in the World Baseball Classic in its most recent editions. The announcement was made by the president of operations of the team, Alfredo Acebal Rizek, who highlighted the impact that the incorporation of the former player will have. "Having Nelson Cruz is a blessing for our organization. His experience, leadership, and knowledge of the game will contribute significantly in all areas," said the executive. In his new role, Cruz will work closely with the baseball operations department, participating in talent evaluation, player development, and strategic decision-making. Similarly, the franchise officially appointed Pimentel as general manager of operations, highlighting his growth within professional baseball and his contribution to the team's qualification for the postseason in the past season. "Jaylon is a professional with great preparation, discipline, and a modern vision of the game. We trust in his ability to continue driving the organization's success," added Acebal Rizek. At 31 years old, Pimentel has built a solid career in Dominican and international baseball. He began his career in 2012 as an assistant to the general manager of the Leones del Escogido, where he later held the position of director of operations at different stages. He also served in similar roles with the Gigantes themselves. His experience includes roles as an international scout with the Arizona Diamondbacks, pro scout with the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees. Likewise, he has collaborated as an advisor with the Toros del Este and currently holds positions in Mexican baseball with the Leones de Yucatán. With these moves, the Gigantes del Cibao strengthen their operational structure for the upcoming season, betting on the experience of a legend and the emerging talent in sports management.
