Mariners crush Nationals 9-1 with offensive power and brilliant start by Logan Evans

SEATTLE – The Seattle Mariners dominated the Washington Nationals from start to finish and won with authority 9 runs to 1, in the first of the series played this Tuesday at T-Mobile Park.

The undisputed protagonist was the young starting pitcher Logan Evans, who signed the best outing of his fledgling career in the Major Leagues. The 23-year-old right-hander pitched eight solid innings, allowing just one run and four hits, without giving up walks and with four strikeouts. His composure on the mound was key to stopping any offensive attempt by the Washington team.

From the start, the Seattle bats began to respond. Julio Rodríguez ignited the spark with a two-run homer in the first inning, followed by another solo home run by Cal Raleigh in the same inning, setting the tone for an attack that didn't stop pressing.

Raleigh punished the opposing pitching again in the fifth inning with his second home run of the night, solidifying himself as one of the home run leaders in the American League. The offense remained aggressive throughout the game, with key contributions also from J.P. Crawford and Ty France.

The Nationals' only response came in the fourth inning with an imposing home run by James Wood, his fourth of the season, but it was insufficient against the total dominance of the Mariners, who played with solvency on defense and made no errors.

With this victory, Seattle improves its record to 30-23 and solidifies its position at the top of the American League West. The Nationals, on the other hand, fall to 24-30, still seeking consistency amidst an irregular season.

The second game of the series will be played this Wednesday, with the Mariners looking to seal another series in their favor at home.
