Santo Domingo.- GoldQuest Mining Corp., responsible for the Romero Project in the province of San Juan, Dominican Republic, reported that the company has received the official Terms of Reference (TOR) from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, marking the formal start of the final phase of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), a crucial milestone for obtaining the environmental license necessary for underground operation.

The reception of the TDR allows GoldQuest to begin comprehensive environmental studies, ensuring compliance with the highest international standards in environmental protection and community relations.

"From this initial stage of Environmental Studies, we are committed to working hand in hand with the communities, in a transparent and participatory manner, so that their voices are heard at every stage of the process. Our goal is to generate the greatest possible benefits for the families and communities of San Juan, while significantly minimizing environmental risks," said Luis Santana, CEO of GoldQuest.

GoldQuest also reported that it will formally work with the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic, a request that highlights the company's willingness to ensure that the study is carried out in accordance with current regulations and under the highest standards of scientific integrity, generating trust in institutions, communities and Dominican society.

In parallel, the company has initiated the process of hiring an international environmental consulting firm of high prestige, which will lead the elaboration of the EIA, in collaboration with a team of qualified Dominican environmental professionals.

The Romero Project is conceived as a state-of-the-art underground mine, designed to produce a copper concentrate with gold and silver content, through flotation processes without the use of polluting chemicals. It will include cutting-edge technology, recycling of process water, strict environmental controls, and high standards of operational efficiency and safety. The comprehensive infrastructure plan includes the construction of an access road, a processing plant, fiber optic facilities and a 69 kV power line connected to the national electricity system.
