LA ROMANA.– Nomar Mazara hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to break the tie and lead the Gigantes del Cibao to a 2-1 victory over the Toros del Este, on Wednesday night, in a game corresponding to the Dominican Baseball League (LIDOM) tournament, dedicated to Juan Marichal and played for the Banreservas Cup.
All the runs of the game were produced by home runs. The Bulls took the lead in the sixth inning with a solo home run by Tres Barrera to left field. However, the Giants responded immediately in the seventh, when Julio Carreras tied the score with a home run to left field.
