INACIF employees in Santiago suspend 24-hour strike after reaching agreements with the Attorney General's Office

Santiago, R.D. – The staff of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) suspended the 24-hour work stoppage that had been called for this Monday, after reaching a preliminary agreement with the authorities of the Attorney General's Office. According to an official statement, the decision was made after a meeting held with Magistrate Yeni Berenice Reynoso, Attorney General of the Republic, who committed to execute the main demands of INACIF staff starting next July.

Employees positively assessed the openness to dialogue and highlighted the willingness shown by the new representative of the Public Ministry, which allowed for the establishment of an effective channel of communication to address their claims. Among the demands are a salary increase and improvements in working conditions. Forensic doctors, medical examiners, forensic technicians, drivers, administrative and maintenance staff participated in the protest. The staff valued the promptness of the institutional response and the willingness of the authorities to correct the precarious conditions affecting their daily work.
