Edesur acquires six power transformers to reduce overload failures

Edesur Dominicana reported the arrival in the country of six power transformers that will be installed in its concession area, with the purpose of eliminating service interruptions caused by the overload of some substations due to the growth in demand from the population and to offer a service of higher quality, stability, and efficiency.

They explained that with the new transformers received plus two available transformers, the execution of the repowering plan begins in more than 21 substations in our concession area, directly impacting the clients associated with the Matadero Santo Domingo, Los Prados, Arroyo Hondo, Barahona, Kilometer 10 1/2 of the Duarte Highway, Zona Franca Los Alcarrizos, Vicente Noble, Bani PER, San Juan, Caballona, Yaguate, Km 15 of Azua, Villarpando, Elías Piña, among others, substations.

These movements are expected to positively impact approximately 472,280 customers. With this project, several sectors of Greater Santo Domingo are benefiting from service improvements, as well as the provinces of San Cristóbal, Barahona, Peravia, San Juan, Azua, and Elías Piña.

The electricity distribution company indicates that, of the six transformers, four have a power of 40 MVA, 69/12.80KV, one of 30 MVA, 69/12.8 KV and another of 24-30 MVA, 138/12.8 KV.

The new equipment is being unloaded at the Caucedo dock, where customs procedures are being completed before working on its transfer, installation, and commissioning process.

Edesur states that the intensity of its work in favor of a higher quality and more reliable energy service is part of the plans it has been executing, as part of the support for these actions of President Luis Abinader.
