Arajet signs agreement with IATA to implement innovative Turbulence Aware tool

Mexico.- The Dominican airline Arajet signed an agreement with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for the implementation of Turbulence Aware, an innovative tool designed to improve real-time turbulence management. Turbulence Aware collects anonymous data on turbulence in flights operated by participating airlines. These accurate, real-time reports help pilots and flight dispatchers minimize the effects of turbulence and plan the smoothest and most efficient flight routes. Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO & founder of Arajet, stated that, “This agreement with IATA represents another step in our commitment to offer a more comfortable, safe and efficient flight experience for all our passengers.”

Peter Cerda, IATA's Regional Vice President for the Americas, stated, “We are pleased that Arajet has decided to participate in Turbulence Aware. With each additional airline that contributes data, we improve the real-time information we provide to flight crews, helping them mitigate the effects of turbulence. It is also positive to see another airline based in the Americas join the platform.” Arajet becomes the first Caribbean-based airline to adopt this advanced technology, contributing to the development of a solid turbulence vision throughout Latin America, where it operates. The agreement was formalized during the ALTA Aviation Safety and Flight Operations Summit, held in Mexico City. Arajet continues to consolidate its position as an innovative airline that raises the standards of air transport in the Caribbean and Latin America.
