Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, denounced that behind the defamations against her spread on social media, there could be an organized structure, even with possible links within the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), to which she belongs. During an interview on the program El Día, broadcast by Telesistema, channel 11, Raful did not rule out that the accusations made by Ángel Martínez and Ingrid Jorge (“La Torita”) have internal support from the PRM. “Although they seem to be close to us, they are not,” he affirmed, while holding certain actors responsible for promoting “the degradation of communication”.

The official maintained that the attacks come from both external sectors and from hidden disputes within the political sphere. "Sometimes one becomes a target, but everything has a limit," she expressed. Raful reaffirmed that he will continue with the judicial process and ruled out any possibility of reconciliation with those involved. "What is appropriate is the trial on the merits," he stated. Following the minister's complaints, the justice system imposed coercive measures on both individuals: against Ángel Martínez, a financial guarantee of 500,000 pesos, a travel ban, and regular reporting; while Ingrid Jorge was ordered to pay 200,000 pesos in cash, in addition to a travel ban and regular reporting to the authorities. The Public Ministry continues investigations to determine if there is an organized network behind the attacks and to clarify the political purposes that motivate them.
