Berlin.- The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said this Friday that the Alaska summit, between the heads of state of the United States and Russia, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, respectively, should open the way for a three-way dialogue on peace in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. "The fundamental thing is that this meeting opens a real path towards a just peace and a substantive debate between the leaders in a trilateral format: Ukraine, the United States and Russia," Zelensky said in a message posted on his 'Facebook' account. The Ukrainian head of state, who will not participate in the meeting that will bring together Trump and Putin in Alaska, acknowledged that "much is at stake" there and assured that he expects a report from his "intelligence services on the current intentions of the Russian side and its preparations for the meeting" between the American and Russian presidents. Zelensky published this message after having held a meeting with his team which, in addition to dealing with the scenarios that the Alaska summit may open, was dedicated to the financing of Ukraine's defense and the situation on the front, where Russia's push has grown in recent days.

"We are countering attempts by Russian forces to gain a foothold and increasing the pressure of our units on the occupier. We are succeeding," Zelenskiy noted, referring to the eastern zone of Prokrovsk, one of the hottest areas of the front.

The Ukrainian president also presented in his writing the decision to reinforce that area, that of Dobropilia, also in eastern Ukraine, and other eastern areas of the Donetsk region. Zelensky, who with his collaborators paid equal attention to the Zaporizhzhia region, said that Russia is currently suffering "significant losses in its attempts to secure more favorable political positions for the Russian leaders at the Alaska meeting". "We understand this plan and inform our partners about the real situation," Zelensky concluded.
