Santo Domingo.- The combined teams of the UASD and Unapec advanced to the final series of the fourth version of the University Baseball tournament, after leaving behind the Ucateba and Pucmm teams in the semifinals of the event organized by the Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner, in option to the BanReservas Cup.
The uasdianos prevailed in two out of three clashes against Ucateba with scores of 12 runs to 5, as well as 5 runs to 3, an achievement they reached after succumbing in the first challenge with a score of 6 to 4.
The winning pitchers for UASD were Anderson Martínez and Raidyn García, while Diego Ayala did it for Ucateba. The losers were Erick Ferreiras, Jeremy Sánchez, and Ayala.
The most outstanding on offense for the winners were Angel García and Emmanuel Bretón, who each produced a home run, and Miguel De la Cruz hit a double and a single. For Ucateba, Diego Ayala connected two doubles and a single.
Unapec advances
On their side, the Unapec team advanced to a final series in college baseball after defeating Pucmm in two games with scores of 6 runs to 5 and 8 to 3.
Daniel Santos and Michael D Oleo were the winning pitchers, while Robert Liriano and Luis Hernández tasted the dust of defeat.
The most outstanding players for Unapec on the offensive were Ariel De la Cruz, with a double and unstoppable, Carlos Ortiz, with two singles. For the defeated team, Eduardo Tavarez stood out with a triple, Robin Castillo, with a double and a hit, and Wilbert Pérez with two singles.
The Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner, headed by Junior Noboa, congratulated the UASD and Unapec teams for advancing to the final, as well as the other teams for the gallantry shown during the tournament.
Final series agreed to 3-2
The final series between UASD and Unapec is scheduled to begin this Saturday from 2:00 PM at the UASD stadium. It will be a 3-2 series, with one game played on that date and two on Sunday starting from 9:00 AM.
Prior to the opening of the final, the match for third place between Pucmm and Ucateba will be played.
