Three-year-old child dies after accidentally being shot by his parent

Hato Mayor. – A three-year-old boy lost his life on Saturday morning after receiving an accidental gunshot, allegedly caused by his father while handling a homemade weapon on a farm in the Los Jíbaros community, at kilometer 4 of the Hato Mayor–Sabana de la Mar highway. The victim was identified as Yolonole Pierre, of Haitian nationality, son of Venisaint Samor Pierre, who had been handling the weapon when it accidentally discharged, hitting the minor in the chest.

The child died from hypovolemic shock, caused by the injury received. The authorities arrived at the scene to remove the body and open the corresponding investigations into the event that has shocked the community.
