Public Ministry and DNCD launch operation against a drug trafficking and money laundering structure

Santo Domingo.- The Public Ministry, together with the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), launched a large-scale operation in which it arrested two people linked to a criminal structure dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering. The operation led to the arrest, under court orders, of Alfredo Samboy Féliz (Burungo) and Suleica Herrera Geraldo. Authorities are pursuing Argenis Santana Herrera (Argenis Kodigo), whom they urged to surrender. A team of 21 prosecutors from the Santo Domingo Este Prosecutor's Office, with the support of 150 agents from the DNCD and Navy personnel, carried out 15 simultaneous raids in the National District, Santo Domingo Este, and Baní, Peravia province, against members of the network that, in September 2024, had 20 packages of cocaine seized from them in the municipality of Villa Mella. During the operation, two houses, four apartments, a villa, a pharmacy, firearms, two nightclubs, vehicles, a recreational boat, a drone, a satellite phone, five Jet Skis, clothing, documents, money in pesos and dollars, electronic equipment, cell phones, and other evidence related to the investigation were seized.

The busiest nightclubs are Kodigo VIP, in Santo Domingo Este, and Flow Room, in the National District. "The dismantling of this network, dedicated to the crime of international drug trafficking and money laundering, has been possible thanks to extensive monitoring and intelligence work by the Public Ministry and DNCD agents," the Public Ministry indicated in a statement. He informed that the authorities are expanding the investigative process to arrest others involved in this criminal network, while the two detainees will be brought to justice in the coming hours.
