Santo Domingo Este Mayor Highlights Patriotic Value of the Bible in Commemorative Act

Santo Domingo Este. – The Santo Domingo Este City Hall celebrated National Bible Day this Monday with an event held at the Iglesia Bautista del Ozama, located in the Coral Mall.

During the activity, the mayor highlighted the importance of the Bible not only as a religious text, but also as a patriotic symbol, recalling that the Dominican flag has an open Bible in its center.

“More than a religious instrument, the Bible is also a patriotic instrument. Our flag reflects this, and that is why as a Christian people we must continue to promote these types of activities that give us clear guidelines on how the coexistence of a normal human being should be,” said the mayor. He also emphasized that the Bible offers principles on family and marriage, values that contribute to the construction of a more balanced society. The mayor concluded by highlighting that this type of commemoration "transcends the religious to become a patriotic commitment", strengthening national identity and reaffirming the Christian values of the Dominican Republic.
