Santo Domingo.-The CECcom dismantled a clandestine factory dedicated to producing adulterated alcohol using water taken directly from the Ozama River. According to the authorities, the place operated secretly among the undergrowth and was equipped with PVC pipes connected to a pump to extract water from the river.
During the operation, 16 metal tanks of 55 gallons and several plastic jugs were seized. In total, approximately 1,235 gallons of the adulterated liquid were destroyed, perforating the containers to prevent them from being used again.
The agency explained that it will continue to intensify controls throughout the country, especially in the run-up to the Christmas season, when the circulation of beverages increases. It also reiterated the call to citizens to purchase products only from authorized businesses and to report any suspicious activity.
