Santo Domingo, Dubai – Dominican gamer Melina Díaz concluded her participation in the Red Bull Tetris International Final, an event that brought together the most outstanding competitors in the world and was held in the city of Dubai. With her classification, the national champion placed the country within the global panorama of competitive Tetris. Díaz was the only Dominican representative to reach this phase, where the players who passed demanding national qualifiers met. The world final, held from December 11 to 13, marked the closing of a circuit that began with millions of games played from mobile devices around the planet and then advanced to national finals on PC. From there emerged the 60 finalists —one per country— who competed for the title.

In the early rounds, Melina faced the Canadian representative in a close duel, demonstrating determination and competitive level in an unprecedented tournament. The impressive Dubai Frame served as the setting for the event, where more than 2,000 drones illuminated the sky and shaped the first Tetris played live, turning each match into a unique visual spectacle and a celebration of the iconic video game's more than 40 years. Among the special guests were Alekséi Pázhitnov, creator of Tetris, and the CEO of the franchise, Maya Rogers, who closely accompanied the players.

After finishing her participation, Melina expressed her excitement and gratitude:
“A once-in-a-lifetime experience. The best part was meeting so many people from all over the world… and even the creator of Tetris and the CEO!”.

Their presence in this international final reaffirms Dominican talent within esports and demonstrates that the Dominican Republic is advancing strongly in world-class competitions.
