The information was provided by General José Luis Frómeta Herasme, superintendent of the National District Fire Department, and by Lieutenant Colonel José Aníbal Sanz Melo, head of Security at Plásticos por Juguetes and director of Advocacy and Use of Public Spaces. Officials stated that the activity includes 100 members of the National Police, 35 from the Navy of the Republic, 35 soldiers from the Joint Task Force Ciudad Tranquila, 15 from Digesett, 15 from Civil Defense and 65 firefighters from the DN. As well as with members of the National Emergency and Security Attention System 9-1-1, Red Cross, Municipal Police, Directorate of Emergency Extrahospitalary Attention Services, Ombudsman and Use of Public Spaces and private security. As every year, these measures executed under the leadership of Carolina Mejía seek to cover the different points around the Municipal Palace with members of these institutions to guarantee the well-being of all participants. “By instructions of Mayor Carolina Mejía, we are here providing the security device. For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Sanz Melo valued the collaboration of all the allied institutions that are taking part in the security of the event.

"Today we are installing all the security devices to provide peace of mind and tranquility to all those participants who will attend this great event," he specified.

Great expectation for this Sunday

The traditional exchange, promoted by Carolina Mejía with the support of the city's allies, will take place from 8:00 in the morning to 12:00 noon and participants must show their ID card that accredits them as residents of the National District. The rules state that 500 bottles can be exchanged for a bicycle and 300 for a varied toy. In that sense, it is clarified that one bicycle and one toy is the maximum allowed to be delivered per ID card. This is the largest environmental awareness event held in the country, as the combined editions of Plastics for Toys and Plastics for Schoolchildren have collected 33 million small bottles, reinforcing the mayor's vision of helping the capital's families, while offering environmental education. The sixth version of Plastics for Toys will be held thanks to the support of Propagas, Banco Popular, BHD, Seaboard, Grupo Ramos, Referencia Laboratorio Clínico, Industrias Bisonó, Martí, Banco Caribe, Olé, Farmacias GBC, Hilos de Amor, Coca Cola, Uepa Tickets, Banreservas and Café Santo Domingo.
