Eagles stay alive in the fight for classification

Cuban Odrisamer Despaigne (1-0) had a successful debut in the Dominican league by working 5.2 innings of just two runs, guiding the Aguilas victory after arriving from the Mexican League. The offensive was led by Cristhian Adames, who hit a solo home run, while Steward Berroa and Ezequiel Durán drove in two runs each.

Early rally made the difference

The Eagles took control of the game from the very first inning with a four-run rally against starting pitcher Bryan Rodríguez, capitalizing on a defensive error that opened the floodgates. After a walk to Berroa and an error by the first baseman Deyvison De los Santos after a hit by Adames, came the productive hits by Jerar Encarnación and the two-run double by Durán, followed by a run-scoring single by Aderlín Rodríguez, to put the score at 4-0.

Giants react, but the Eagles sentence

The Giants scored with a solo home run by Diego Hernandez in the third and another in the sixth inning with a run-scoring single by De los Santos. However, the Eagles extinguished any attempt at a comeback with another four-run rally in the seventh inning. Adames opened with a home run against Luis Frías, and after two outs, consecutive singles by Rodríguez and Ángel Genao prompted the pitcher's exit. Sebastián Rivero drove in one with a single and Berroa cleared the bases with a triple, putting the score at 8-2 and sealing the game.
