Court of Auditors trains 51 new auditors

The Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic (CCRD), through the National School of Accounts and in coordination with the Audit Directorate, began the training process for 51 new auditors, who are joining the institutional strengthening through simultaneous work in 50 audit teams, starting in February. During an induction ceremony held in the Pedro Miguel Caratini Hall, which will last for a period of two weeks, the member of the Plenary, licenciado Ramón Méndez Acosta, when speaking on behalf of the president of the entity, doctora Emma Polanco Melo, as well as the other members of the Plenary, welcomed the new auditors, urging them to perform their duties with transparency, objectivity, and independence. "One of the fundamental pillars governing the auditor's work, as established in the Constitution of the Republic and in the laws regulating the public sector, is the observance of principles such as efficiency, excellence, objectivity, and independence. Today there is also active social control, exercised by citizens through oversight bodies and complaints, and we must be prepared to offer timely and responsible responses," said Méndez Acosta.

In the welcome ceremony, the director of the National School of Accounts (ENC), doctor Juan Miguel Pérez, highlighted the relevance of the new auditors' entry into public service, pointing out that "your incorporation does not go unnoticed for this institution; it represents a transcendental moment, since with your arrival the renewal process of the Accounts Chamber materializes".

Similarly, the Director of Audit, licenciado Fabio Enríquez Roa, underscored the importance of the role played by auditors for the country, emphasizing that "the auditor's function demands an attitude of mental independence; it implies analyzing the facts objectively, without prejudice, and always acting with technical and professional judgment." With the induction of these 51 new auditors, the group of 82 professionals selected in August of last year is completed, out of a total of 900 participants who were part of the public competition held by the governing body of control and fiscalization of public resources. In addition, the Vice President of the Plenary of the Chamber of Accounts, licenciado Francisco Tamárez Florentino, and the member of the Plenary, licenciada Griselda Gómez Santana, as well as directors of various areas and logistical support teams of the institution, attended the training activity. This process constitutes a significant step in the institutional consolidation of the Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic, by strengthening its technical talent and promoting a culture of transparency, efficiency, and excellence in the exercise of public auditing.
