Toros del Este react in the ninth and conquer their first victory in the Final Series

SANTO DOMINGO.– A two-run rally in the ninth inning allowed the Toros del Este to come from behind and defeat the Leones del Escogido 3-2, to get their first victory of the Final Series, in an exciting match held at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium.

The offensive was led by Bryan De La Cruz, who opened the scoring with a solo home run; Rudy Martín Jr., author of the double that tied the actions, and Eric Filia, who negotiated a walk with the bases loaded to push the go-ahead run. The Lions were dominating the game 2-1 going into the ninth inning, but the Bulls responded with determination. After a walk to Eddie Rosario and a hit by Sergio Alcántara that put runners on the corners, Rudy Martín Jr. hit a double to tie the game. Minutes later, Filia showed patience at the plate and received a walk that brought the decisive run to the plate. With the victory, the Toros put the series 2-1 in favor of the Escogido, remaining in the fight for the championship.

The bullfighting opener Odrisamer Despaigne had no decision after pitching 5.2 innings, in which he allowed two runs, five hits, gave one walk and struck out seven batters.
The victory went to Jean Carlos Mejía, who worked a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, while Joe Corbett took charge of the ninth inning without allowing liberties, achieving the save.
