La Vega, R.D.– The communicators Caroline Aquino and Oliver Peña expressed their enthusiasm in taking on this year the stellar conduction of the traditional Vegano Carnival, one of the most important cultural and folkloric manifestations of the country.

"Yes, truly, for me it's always an honor that they trust my work, I already feel like a vegan, people have supported me, I enjoy this experience, I always value each year that when they tell me 'we want you there', here I am with all the love in the world," Aquino expressed.
Likewise, Aquino highlighted the importance of the Vegano Carnival as a space for cultural and popular gathering that turns the streets of La Vega into the main stage of the country every February. "Happy to be here one more year and share with our people in the streets and know that the people have decided that the streets of La Vega will be the main stage of our country in February," said Peña. For his part, Oliver Peña, with more than 20 years of experience linked to the Vegano Carnival, assured that taking on the conduction of the event goes beyond a professional commitment, as it is a passion inherited from his family and lived since childhood. Peña, one of the most respected and beloved communicators in the city of La Vega, recalled that his connection with the carnival is marked by a family history that connects him directly with the growth and commercialization of the event. "For me it is an honor, I really live this, my father was the ideologue of the great idea of what is today the commercialization together with Kuki Medrano and Roberto Rodríguez. I have been involved in this since I was a child, jumping around; it is part of my life, I feel it in my heart. Being in public makes me feel good, I feel good," he affirmed. Finally, both communicators invited Dominicans and foreigners to join the great celebration of the Vegano Carnival during the next Sundays of February and especially on February 27, the date on which National Independence is also celebrated.
