Appliances begin to collapse amid the fire in a store in Villa Mella

Santo Domingo Norte.– Amidst the fire affecting the furniture store L&R Comercial and which has spread to nearby establishments such as Banco Ademi and Payless, witnesses report that several appliances have begun to fall from inside the affected store. Images captured at the scene show beds, drawers, and other household equipment collapsing due to the intensity of the flames and the weakening of the structure, which has increased the risk for emergency units and onlookers who remain in the surrounding area. The fire, which started at the L&R Comercial furniture store, continues to generate a dense column of smoke visible from a great distance, while the Fire Department works to contain the advance of the disaster and prevent a major collapse of the building.

Authorities have reinforced the security perimeter and urge the population to stay away from the area to facilitate the work of the emergency teams. So far, no victims have been reported, although the material damage would be significant.
