Who is Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz?

Santo Domingo. — Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz is a career officer of the National Police with extensive experience in strategic functions of control, supervision, and internal management within the institution. He was promoted to the rank of major general and appointed director general of the National Police by President Luis Abinader through Decree No. 111-26. Before his appointment, he served as the institution's inspector general (2023-2026). He also held high-ranking positions such as Director of Internal Affairs, Southern Regional Director, Director of Liaison between the Ministry of Defense and the National Police, and Director of Internal Control. In the academic field, he is a civil engineer graduated from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) and holds a master's degree in National Defense and Security from the Instituto Superior para la Defensa General Juan Pablo Duarte y Díez. In addition, he has specialized training in leadership, criminal investigation, crisis management, and international cooperation.
