Banreservas Cultural Center announces the Fifth Theater Season dedicated to Giovanny Cruz

Santo Domingo. - The Cultural Center Banreservas announced the Fifth Theater Season, dedicated to the outstanding theater artist, director and producer Giovanny Cruz, to be held in Santo Domingo and Santiago from March 7 to 29, with a calendar that will include eight plays of different genres.

The programming will take place at the Sala Ravelo of the National Theater Eduardo Brito and the Banreservas Cultural Center, in Santo Domingo and Santiago. The program includes contemporary drama, historical theater, introspective monologue, intelligent popular comedy, and family-friendly proposals of high aesthetic value.

By offering the details in a press meeting at the Banreservas Cultural Center, Alieska Díaz, Senior Executive Vice President of Administration, pointed out that this edition, dedicated to Giovanni Cruz, recognizes a solid trajectory that has significantly contributed to Dominican theater and continues to inspire new generations.

"From Banreservas we assume the support for theater as part of our institutional responsibility. Supporting culture is contributing to spaces of reflection, identity and audience formation," he expressed. Díaz stated that in this fifth season the financial institution expands its reach by bringing the programming not only to the Banreservas Cultural Center in Santo Domingo, but also to Santiago, which strengthens this platform and reaffirms the purpose of bringing art closer to more audiences. The theater expands its space More than a theatrical offering, the season has been transformed into a creative meeting point. A space where different generations and languages dialogue, which has allowed to boost local production, expand audiences and promote a closer relationship between the theater and the citizenry. On his part, the artistic producer, director, and creator of the season, Guillermo Cordero, highlighted the growth that the project has experienced and the support received to strengthen the national scene. "The Banreservas Theater Season has expanded its reach and impact. Today it is not only about presenting plays, but also about accompanying the work of the companies, stimulating new audiences and offering a firm space for Dominican theatrical creation," Cordero affirmed. Likewise, he thanked the support of the executive president of Banreservas, Leonardo Aguilera; the senior executive vice president of Administration, Alieska Díaz; the vice president of Public Relations, Daniel García Archibald and his team, headed by Lina Hernández, director of Public Relations of the institution. He pointed out that this support has allowed the season to consolidate as a point of convergence for creators, companies and audiences, strengthening the vitality and projection of Dominican stage talent.

The billboard at the Sala Ravelo will include titles such as La gran depresión, by Félix Sabroso; El desahogo de una viuda; Liborio and Mis tres suegras, pieces that navigate between psychological introspection such as historical memory and comedy as a social reflection. At the Banreservas Cultural Center, the programming will be aimed at families and students, with productions such as Las fábulas de Juan Niní, based on texts by Juan Bosch; El camarón encantado, inspired by José Martí; Emocionario; The Odyssey and Para subir al cielo, where visual language and object theater take center stage.
