The MAP orders to adopt special measures in areas with yellow and green alerts

The Ministry of Public Administration (MAP), in its capacity as the governing body of public employment, ordered the adoption of special administrative measures in the provinces declared in yellow and green alert, in order to preserve the safety of public servants who live in vulnerable areas.

In a statement, the MAP informed all bodies and entities of the Public Administration that, in view of the adverse weather conditions reported by the competent organizations, the working hours of personnel should be made flexible, especially for those public servants who reside in vulnerable areas, difficult to access or who may be affected by the current weather conditions.

The institution recommended that, as far as possible, the remote work modality (telework) be implemented, guaranteeing the continuity of public services and prioritizing the efficient use of the technological resources available in each institution.

He pointed out that the highest institutional authorities should adopt flexible measures regarding entry and exit times, as well as consider valid justifications in cases where public servants face difficulties in commuting to their workplaces due to the situation.

In the statement, the MAP indicates that those bodies and entities that provide essential services, such as health, security, emergency care and others that cannot be interrupted, are excluded from this provision, which must ensure the continuity of their operations in accordance with their internal protocols.

The entity explains that this decision is based on the State's duty to protect the life, safety, and health of public servants, as well as to guarantee the adequate provision of services to citizens.

The MAP urged all institutions to remain attentive to official information and to act with due diligence and responsibility in the face of the situation.
