Through an official statement, the municipal authorities deplored the death of David Carlos Abreu Quesada, who worked as a driver of a solid waste collection truck, and described the act as an act of barbarism that mourns the entire municipal sector of the country.
In the document, the councilors highlighted that the worker was a victim of "unjustifiable and unacceptable" violence while performing his duties in the service of the community, which has generated consternation among local authorities.
Likewise, they expressed their condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, while supporting the statement of the president of FEDOMU, Nelson Núñez, who also referred to the seriousness of the event.

The mayors made an urgent call to the Public Ministry, the National Police, and the Judiciary to deepen the investigations and bring those responsible to justice, underlining that this crime must not go unpunished.
Similarly, they urged citizens to reject violence as a mechanism for resolving conflicts, reminding them that municipal employees risk their integrity daily to ensure cleanliness and order in the communities.
"Respect, protection and guarantees for these workers must be a priority," the statement indicates.
The Valdesia Region reiterated its commitment to safe, dignified municipal management at the service of the people, amidst the pain that engulfs the sector following this regrettable event.
