Police arrest 11 people in simultaneous operations in Espaillat and Hermanas Mirabal

Moca, Espaillat.– The National Police arrested at least 11 people during operations carried out in the last 24 hours in the provinces of Espaillat and Hermanas Mirabal, as part of actions aimed at combating crime and executing judicial orders.

From the total number of detainees, seven were captured through arrest warrants for various crimes, while another four were apprehended in the act, mainly for possession of controlled substances. Among those arrested by court orders are Ruddy Saúl Zapata Mota, Daniel Baldera Hernández, Junior Arístides Abreu Acosta, Darío Antonio Taveras Ramos, Odalín Antonio Alvarado Ortega (a) Odalis, Luciano Alberto Fernández and Héctor José Monegro Paulino, all Dominicans, adults, residents of the municipalities of Moca, Salcedo and Villa Tapia. In the municipality of Moca, four of those arrested face charges: two for alleged violation of articles 379, 382 and 384 of the Dominican Penal Code, related to aggravated robbery and robbery with violence, and two others for non-compliance with Law 136-03 on child support.

Meanwhile, those arrested in Hermanas Mirabal province are being investigated for alleged violations of articles 333 and 396, literal C, of Law 24-97 on domestic violence, as well as Law 136-03 and article 225 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Regarding those arrested in the act, they were identified as José Ramón Martínez Arroyo, Wilfre Polanco Medina, Joelvis Guillén García, and Yannat Nicole Ureña, who were arrested in Moca and Salcedo for possession of controlled substances, in violation of Law 50-88 on drugs and controlled substances. The Police reported that both the detainees and the seized evidence will be made available to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
